Isabelle joins the Outlier team with nearly 15 years in financial crime compliance, risk management, and regulatory oversight within the financial services sector. Throughout her career, she has supported the design, implementation, and enhancement of compliance frameworks, enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments, transaction monitoring programs, sanctions risk management, regulatory change management, policy and procedure development, regulatory examinations, and operational effectiveness initiatives. She is particularly passionate about building practical, risk-based compliance frameworks that enable organizations to effectively manage risk while supporting business objectives. Isabelle is also ICA certified, and is an ACC candidate with the International Coaching Federation. She’s fluent in 4 languages (and is keen to add more to the mix), sits on the boards of two non-profits, and… is an honest to goodness martial artist and karate instructor (3rd dan with 15+ years of training experience).

Isabelle’s path into compliance was an unexpected one. If asked early in her career where she thought she would end up, working in a bank would have been the last answer she would have given. To her surprise, that’s exactly where she landed in the early 2010s, when she was asked to join the data governance and reporting team in the compliance department at HSBC Bank that was deep into a major overhaul of its financial crime and regulatory compliance programs. What began as an unexpected opportunity quickly developed into a passion for compliance, risk management, and risk assessment. Since then, Isabelle has built a career focused on helping organizations understand, manage, and demonstrate effective risk stewardship.

Isabelle supports Outlier’s mission statement, “good compliance is good business”. She is passionate about compliance and risk management and is a firm believer in the idea that compliance doesn’t need to be an obstacle to business; rather, it lays the foundation for doing what adds value, and for doing it right.
